Anthony Hopkins Says ‘I Want To Live’ As He Celebrates His 45 Years Of Sobriety With A Touching Letter

Legendary Welsh actor Sir Philip Anthony Hopkins made a touching announcement about his 45 years of sobriety on his Twitter account by uploading a new video of himself.

On Tuesday, Anthony Hopkins opened up about how he stayed away from the alcohol and revealed his bad experiences with alcohol in his life with a video he posted on Twitter.

In his speech, the 82-year-old legendary actor said that he did not preach to his followers, but drank too much, so he asked him if you wanted to live or die. The actor who chose to live said that he quit alcohol after that day and life is getting better after his sobriety.

He also gave advice to his young fans and told his fans that they should never give up and be brave. Concluding his words by mentioning many disasters in 2020, the actor said he was hopeful for the next year.

Here’s what he said:

“45 years ago today, I had a wake-up call. I was heading for disaster, drinking myself to death. I’m not preaching, but I got a message – a little thought that said ‘do you want to live or die?’ and I said ‘I want to live.’ And suddenly the relief came and life has been amazing.

Today is the tomorrow you were so worried about yesterday. You young people: don’t give up. Just keep in there, keep fighting. Be bold and mighty forces will come to your aide. That sustained me through my life.

A tough year full of grief and sadness for many, many, many people. This is going to be the best year.”
