R&B singer and album producer, Ashanti, shows her respect and pay her tribute to the legendary host, Regis Philbin, telling a story about their last meet before his death.
Regis Philbin has died at the age of 88 on July 24, 2020. His family confirmed that he passed away due to natural causes.
Ashanti has shared a throwback video where she had attended at ‘Live with Regis and Kelly’ on her official Instagram page, and in her caption, she said she was very pleased to have participated in the Regis’ show.
However, she mentioned a golden-worth gift she sent to Philbin a huge New York Yankees basket full of Yankees memorabilia when he had heart surgery because he was a huge fan of Yankees. She continued that Regis sent back her a thank you note for it.
Here’s what Ashanti wrote:
“I must have done Regis and Kelly a million times…always a pleasure… No one says my name with as much pizzazz, umph, and sauce as Regis 🤣 He was a huge Yankees fan… and I remember years ago when he had heart surgery I sent him a huge Yankees basket full of Yankee memorabilia.. and he sent me the sweetest thank you note.”
The 39-year-old hip hop star finally shoed her respect, describing him as one of the warmest, funniest, greatest personalities in talk show history. She continued:
“To one of the warmest, funniest, greatest personalities in talk show history!!! Rest in peace, The Legendary Regis❤️❤️❤️”
