Better Call Saul writer Thomas Schnauz talks about the series, one of the amazing episodes titled ‘Bad Choice Road,’ Emmy nominations, and the actress Rhea Seehorn, who portrayed Kim Wexler.
During an exclusive interview with ‘Gold Derby,’ Emmy-nominated ‘Better Call Saul’ writer speaks on the dynamics of the Emmy-nominated series and also talked about the difficulties of going by connecting the show with Breaking Bad.
Here’s what he stated:
“We have been going on separate tracks, and this was the season where story-lines really crossed over. I want to say it was difficult, but it really was energizing. And connecting it to ‘Breaking Bad.’ Making these puzzle pieces fit together is a big challenge.”
He then mentioned the amazing episode of Better Call Saul, Bad Choice Road, and revealed:
“That was a very long and complex scene with different stages. The most satisfying part of writing and directing the episode was when we rehearsed the scene. Seeing the crew reactions to just the rehearsal I thought, ‘thank God, this is probably gonna work.’”
It was one of the most stressful episodes of the series; Jimmy and Kim’s confrontation with drug cartel Lalo Salamanca.
When the interviewer asked what Schnauz think was the best choice he has made for Better Call Saul, he said that it was to transform Kim Wexler from Jimmy McGill’s world into an important character. He said:
“The best choice we made was to make Kim Wexler a large character in the world of Jimmy McGill.”
Neither Rhea Seehorn(Kim Wexler) nor Bob Odenkirk(Jimmy McGill) were nominated for the Emmy Awards, but they were praised by media authorities and audiences for their acting.
