Borat 2 Star Maria Bakalova Reveals How She Benefited From Wearing A Mask

Sacha Baron Cohen’s latest movie, Borat 2, was released on Amazon Prime, and it was a hugely influential movie. Maria Bakalova, one of the film actors, explained her experience and how COVID-19 has benefited her on the first night show she attended, James Corden’s Late Late Show.
Borat 2 is the sequel to the first Borat movie and was released in 2006, and again Sacha Baron Cohen brings Borat to life. In the new film, Borat intends to destroy America; this time presided over by Donald Trump.
The 24-year-old Maria Bakalova portrays the character of Borat’s daughter, Tutar, in the film. The young actress announced that she was chosen among 600 actors and her recognition increased with her role in this movie. However, according to Bakalova’s statement, she was saved from being recognized for wearing masks due to the pandemic.
The young actress expressed her concern for this in humorous language, saying that if COVID-19 did not exist, many people would not recognize her without a mask.
Here’s what she stated:
“I like to live here right now, but I’m at the same time looking at—it’s not a good thing—but [COVID-19] actually saved me because you’re wearing masks, so I haven’t experienced the thing where people recognize me.
So I’m kind of worried [for when] COVID-19 doesn’t exist, and people don’t wear masks. They will be probably recognizing me.”
She continued:
“A friend of mine showed it for, like, a joke because I was extremely scared that this was something sketchy. It’s not a real audition. They’re going to try to, like, do human trafficking on me.”
