British-born model Cara Delevingne has posted a new post on Instagram and made a crucial statement by pointing out an important issue.
People are making a radical decision on social media and are deciding to freeze their Instagram accounts. The reason for this is to raise awareness against hate speech on the internet. Cara Delevigne is one of those who made this decision.
This event is sponsored by the leading civil rights organizations in the United States, and it aims to raise awareness on race, gender, and more.
The 28-year-old model took to Instagram to pen a statement and raise her voice against it. She said she would freeze her Instagram page for 24 hours as of September 16. She also invited her fans to raise their voice against hate speech on social media.
Here’s what Cara stated:
“Social media should be a place to communicate, express ourselves, and connect – not to hate, mislead, discriminate, or bully. • Tomorrow, 9/16, I’ll join some of the nation’s leading civil rights organizations Vasanthi, Anti-Defamation League, and NAACP, in pausing posting for 24 hours. This will give these platforms a chance to make social media a safer and happier place for all of us. I hope you’ll join me.”
