On Thursday, Chicago officials released a graphic body camera video of a 13-year-old Latino boy, Adam Toledo, who was killed by a police officer more than 2 weeks ago.
The nine-minute video from Eric Stillman’s body camera showed the 34-year-old officer getting out of his squad car and running after Adam Toledo in an alley at 2:30 a.m. on March 29 in Little Village, a Mexican neighborhood on the city’s West Side.
The video then showed him yelling ‘Stop’ at Toledo before the police officer caught the boy and ordered him to show his hands. Toledo seemed to raise his hands just before the police officer fired a shot, and as he fell to the ground, he rushed towards the boy.
Cardi B took to Twitter and reacted to the incident by raising her voice against police brutality. She described the video as so sad, sick, and disgusting.
Here’s the tweet:
“That video of that 13-year-old falling on his ass after getting shot by a cop is so sick, sad, and disgusting. I’m so tired of police brutality & entitlement. We are sooo tired of it. When will it end? like this shit is becoming too much. It’s truly traumatizing.”
