Cassie Breaks Silence About Leaving Diddy’s Bad Boy Records: ‘That’s Just Very Different From The Start’

R&B singer Cassie broke the silence about leaving rapper Diddy’s Bad Boy Records and going an independent artist during a recent appearance at Ciara’s Level Up Radio on Apple Music.

The last few years have been an interesting year for Cassie. Cassie gained fame after releasing her classic song ‘Me & U,’ but struggled to keep her reputation later on. The reason for this was that he was known for her relationship with Diddy rather than her career.

Cassie was very prominent in her relationship with Diddy, which was putting her career in the background. After ending the 11-year relationship, Cassie announced her relationship with Alex Fine, and the couple got married in 2019. The couple has a daughter named Frankie.

In late 2020, Cassie announced she was pregnant again, and they recently discussed her professional life and family life in an interview with Ciara on Apple Music’s Level Up Radio. Cassie, who was once a Bad Boy artist, said that in addition to her relationship with Diddy, she was able to distance herself professionally, thus becoming an independent artist.

Here’s what Cassie said:

“I left Bad Boy. I was able to get out of my deal. So now I’m independent. So that’s just very different from the start. It’s so different. And I mean, even now I’m just in a different place in my life.”

She continued:

“It’s the place to be, just to own your stuff and just… You could do whatever you want. You could wake up tomorrow and be like, ‘Okay, I want to record four records. And then put them out and it’s mine. And what you going to say?'”
