As you might know, There was a small scene of Donald Trump from the movie Home Alone 2: Lost In New York. Donald Trump appears alongside star Macaulay Culkin, who played Kevin McCallister, in a scene of Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, which was shot in the lobby of the Trump-owned Plaza Hotel in New York City.
During a recent interview with ‘Insider,’ Columbus has revealed the unknowns about the President’s cameo in the film and how he forced to change his scene. According to the director, Trump wanted to shoot in the lobby for the film, due to it being impossible to recreate the hustle and bustle of a real-life hotel entrance ‘on a soundstage,’ they chose the Plaza.
Here’s what he said:
“We wanted to shoot in the lobby. We couldn’t rebuild The Plaza on a soundstage.”
“We paid the fee, but he also said, ‘The only way you can use the Plaza is if I’m in the movie. So we agreed to put him in the movie.”
He also said that Donald Trump, who was aggressive during the filming, was quite bullied during his cameo. He added:
“People cheered when Trump showed up on-screen. So I said to my editor, ‘Leave him in the movie. It’s a moment for the audience.’ But he did bully his way into the movie.”
