Actor and comedian Chris Rock explained why he’s fired people on set during a recent virtual event with Nicole Kidman via Variety’s Actors on Actors’ interview.
Nicole Kidman and Chris Rock had a virtual chat with Variety’s Actors on Actors, and the two actors talked about each other’s films, performances, and attitudes on set.
Chris Rock, one of the artists who advocated the equality of men and women on the set, and the successful actor said during the interview that he fired people who did not listen to women from the set. Because he said women should have a say.
Here’s what Chris Rock said:
“I’ve fired people because they couldn’t listen to a woman. I was like, ‘How come he’s not doing…?’ And then I realise, ‘Oh.'”
“Let’s not downplay…how hard it must’ve been to be a woman at that time going through, you know, just like, ‘I’m the boss. Not him. I’m the boss.’”
