Coming 2 America’s Wesley Snipes Shares His Insane Effort To Work With Eddie Murphy
The 58-year-old actor Wesley Snipes will play General Izzi in Coming 2 America with Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall, as well as Leslie Jones, Jermaine Fowler, Tracy Morgan and Rick Ross.
Coming 2 America, which will be released on Amazon Prime on March 5, 2021, will focus on the story of Prince Akeem, who learned that he had a son who disappeared years ago.
On a chat about the film, Wesley Snipes revealed that he auditioned for the role of Darry in the first film in 1988, but he lost the role to Eriq La Salle.
He also mentioned that he didn’t have the chance to audition in front of Eddie Murphy whom he described as ‘the great grandmaster comedian.’
Furthermore, the actor, who had a great desire to work with Eddie Murphy because of his admiration for Murphy’s talent in comedy, stated that every time he watched the film, he realized that he absolutely wanted to work with Murphy in the future. Therefore, he is now happy to achieve this desire in the sequel of the movie 32 years later.

“I auditioned for the first Coming to America, but I didn’t get to audition in front of Eddie. After three call backs, I ended up losing the role to Eriq La Salle.
But, ever since I saw that movie, I’ve wanted to work with Eddie… I wanted check the great grandmaster comedian Eddie Murphy off my bucket list.”
