David Ayer And James Gunn React To Sad News That Arclight Cinemas And Pacific Theatres Won’t Be Reopening

It was announced in distribution and exhibition circles on Monday that Arclight Cinemas and Pacific Theaters will not reopen. Iconic directors David Ayer and James Gunn had a conversation about the sad news on Twitter.

First, David Ayer reacted to the news that two important theaters will not open again by putting a sad face emoji. James Gunn described it as ‘the worst.’

David Ayer said in response to James Gunn’s tweet that Arclight is one of Hollywood’s favorite venues and described it as a sacred place. James Gunn said he was gutted. He said that theaters are an integral part of many important moments in his life and that he will miss them forever.

Here’s what David Ayer tweeted:

“Arclight Hollywood was my spot when I wanted to study a movie. And the Dome. It’s a sacred venue. Theaters are too powerful an experience to them to fade away.”

James Gunn said:

“I’m gutted. The ArcLight has been an amazing support to cinema in LA. I’ll miss talking to the employees about their favorite films, which they had listed on their name tags. The theaters have been an integral part of so many key moments in my life, I’ll miss them forever.”
