Director James Gunn Says He Was Given Full Freedom To Kill Anyone In ‘The Suicide Squad 2’

Fans have high expectations from The Suicide Squad movie, which will be released in 2021 because director James Gunn had great success with his other film, Guardians of the Galaxy. Making new statements about The Suicide Squad movie, the director warned everyone to be prepared for anything.

James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad has nothing to do with David Ayer’s Suicide Squad movie, so the expectations should be accordingly, but we can guess that Gunn’s movie will contain more death and violence.

According to James Gunn’s statements, he will stay true to what fans know and love about the violent outsiders in The Suicide Squad, while at the same time removing the taboo that lead roles never die. It will never be clear who is likely to die, when and how, so this will add more excitement and adventure to the film.

Besides the most loved characters such as Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag, Jai Courtney’s Captain Boomerang, and Viola Davis ’Amanda Waller, there will be new characters such as Idris Elba’s Bloodsport, John Cena’s Peacemaker, and Michael Rooker’s Savant in the new film.

Here’s what James Gunn stated:

“I think you know, from pretty close to the beginning, that all of the Guardians are good – apart from Nebula, who’s the outlier. But in The Suicide Squad, some of the characters end up being good, some end up being terrible.

They don’t just get in fights and say they’re going to kill each other, they actually do get in fights and kill each other. You really don’t know who’s going to live and who’s going to die. I was given full freedom to kill anyone – and I mean anyone – by DC.”
