Dwayne Johnson Gives New Update About ‘Young Rock’ And Pens An Emotional Letter To His Late Father

The former WWE wrestler and actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is continuing to share new updates about his television show, Young Rock, and he penned an emotional letter to his late father, Rocky Johnson.

Dwayne Johnson lost his father, Rocky, earlier this year. On January 15, 2020, at the age of 75 in the Lutz, Florida home Dwayne bought for him, Johnson died of a pulmonary embolism caused by a blood clot that traveled from a deep vein thrombosis in his leg.

Dwayne Johnson continues filming Young Rock, where he tells a comic take on his extraordinary life with the ugly stories of his family and youth that made him the man he is today.

Dwayne Johnson continues to prepare for and share new updates for his new show. In a new Instagram post, The Rock introduced actor Joseph Lee Anderson, who will portray his father. Jonhson, who also paid a beautiful tribute to his father, stated that he could not say goodbye to his father as he wanted, but believed that the show must go on as his father said.

Here’s what he said:

“Seeing this image of actor, @officialjosephleeanderson playing my dad, Rocky Johnson (RIP Soulman) really sat me down💔😢

On set of our new @nbc TV series, YOUNG ROCK – a show that explores my insanely wild childhood and all the many lessons life has thrown at me and my family along the way.

My dad suddenly passed away earlier this year.
Never had a chance to say goodbye to my old man, which really sucks – but as he always said, “hey the show must go on”.

And so it will.

Hope you’re proud of this one Soulman… who would’ve ever thought huh!? 🥃

Wanted you guys to see this “first look” at my pops.
No filters, no polish and nothing fancy. Just the Soulman doing what he did best!

Can’t wait for you guys to watch our new show. I think you’re gonna like it.”
