The world-famous American actor and former WWE wrestler Dwayne Johnson shared a memorable throwback photo on his Instagram with a fan which was taken after one of his wrestling matches.
Dwayne Johnson gained his fame as a wrestler in the World Wrestling Federation from 1996 to 2004, and his ring name became ‘the Rock.’ Johnson remembered those times when he was very broke but passionate for the upcoming adventures waiting ahead in his life.
On Thursday, he took Instagram to share an old polaroid photo with a young fan named Mitchell taken with his favorite wrestler. Johnson who looks quite different in the photo, draws attention with his black hair, wearing jorts and a cool leather fanny pack hanging low. His image completely reflecting the fashion of the 90s.
In the caption, the actor mentioned his first ring name was ‘Flex Kavana‘ and he thought it was a cool name at the time. The match was at a flea market and when he looked back at those times, he stated that it was where he learned the value of always taking care of the audience and sending them home happy.
Here’s the caption:
TBT to me and a young fan after my wrestling match at the flea market in Memphis.
My ring name was “Flex Kavana” (hey I thought it was a cool name at the time🤣) and I was making a GUARANTEED $40 bucks per match.
I was broke as hell, passionate, and gave it all I got – having NOOO IDEA the long, windy, unpredictable road that lay ahead.
Sounds crazy but looking back at this time – these nights of wrestling at flea markets, fairs, high school gyms, used car dealerships, etc…this is where I learned the value of always taking care of the audience and sending them home happy.
And for $5 bucks you can go home happy too just like Mitchell here and take a polaroid with your favorite wrestler.
wearing jorts and a cool ass leather fanny pack hanging low.
Sorry, Mitchell. I own you one 👊🏾🥃”
