American civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. delivered a historic public speech during the March on Washington for Jobs and freedom on August 28, 1963, in which he called for civil and economic rights and an end to racism in the United States.
Today is the 57 anniversary of Martin Luther King’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech, and iconic Miami Heat basketball player Dwyane Wade took to Instagram to celebrate this special day, showing his new MLK tattoo to honor the speech.
Wade shared a bunch of photos of his tattoo, which shows Martin Luther King’s iconic image while giving his inspirational speech. His epic-looking tattoo was made by the famous tattoo designer named Vanessa Aurelia. Wade preferred to have the tattoo done on his forearm. He also left a wise caption:
“Thank you, Vanessa Aurelia, for capturing this moment for me. 57 years ago to the date Martin Luther King Jr stood before a quarter of a million people from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and spoke the words ‘I have a dream.'”
