Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran said that he almost retired from the music following his daughter’s birth.
As you recall, in 2019, Ed Sheeran is on the final stage of his huge ‘Divide’ tour, this Monday. He has performed regularly since March 2017 and he now plans to take a long break of 18 months. Although fans are upset by this situation, everyone knows that he really deserves this lengthy holiday.
However, the musician could not stay away from his favorite profession and returned with the song ‘Bad Habits.’ In a recent interview, he said that he is seriously considering retirement.
During a recent appearance at SiriusXM, Sheeran stated that he almost retired from the music following his daughter’s birth. The singer took a lengthy career break in 2019 and considered making it permanent when his wife Cherry Seaborn gave birth to the couple’s first child, a daughter called Lyra, last September.
Here’s what Ed Sheeran said:
“I stopped playing music for a bit. And music is entirely me as a person. Then I had my daughter and I was like: ‘Right, that’s it. This is me. I am probably just going to be a dad. I am not going to play music anymore.’”
“Then I was suddenly like: it is more important for my daughter to grow up knowing that her parents have a work ethic?”
