Actor Micahel Keaton admitted that Batman is the only superhero movie he’s ever watched and said he hasn’t seen an entire comic book film since Tim Burton’s Batman.
The actor played Batman, as known as Bruce Wayne, in Tim Burton’s 1989 take on the superhero saga, and will soon be reprising his role in the new DC film The Flash.
During a recent interview with Hollywood Reporter, Michael Keaton talked about his future plans and discussed his forthcoming plans. He said that he has not watched the entire comic book since the first Batman.
Michael Keaton said:
“After the first Batman, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an entire [comic book] movie. I just never got around to it. So you’re talking to a guy who wasn’t in the zeitgeist of that whole world. When I went down to do the Marvel things in Atlanta … It’s an entire city dedicated to Marvel … They’ll be doing Marvel movies forever. I’ll be dead, and they’ll still be doing Marvel movies.”
Tim Burton also said:
“They’re somebody who’s intelligent and kind of screwed up. And Michael has such an intensity that it’s like, ‘Yeah, I could see that guy wanting to dress up as a bat.’
It’s all rooted in psychology, Jekyll and Hyde and two sides of a personality, light and dark, and he understood that.”
