Nathalie Emmanuel, known for her role as Missandei in the Game of Thrones series, has shared a new post on her verified Instagram page and opened up about her mental health issues.
On Wednesday, Nathalie reminded fans that they should be gentle and kind to fight against mental health, writing a heartening letter.
In the letter, the 31-year-old actress recently said that she had a really intense feeling of anxiety and could not relax mentally or physically due to the ongoing protests and the death of George Floyd.
However, she added that people should not be worried and should strive for their mental health. She penned:
“Last week I had really intense feelings of anxiety and could not mentally or physically relax. I would be sitting on the sofa or lying in bed and realize I was unconsciously tensing pretty much every muscle in my body or holding my breath…
Having to process everything going on is exhausting. And there has been a lot of processing… a lot of old memories that I’d shoved all the way down making an appearance… like I said… exhausting. But feeling less bound by it all this week, which is a relief. Just a reminder to be gentle and kind with yourself.”
Game of Thrones actor Raleigh Ritchie said that he felt the same way in recent days:
“Bro, same. Glad you’re getting some clarity back ♥️”
Fast & Furious star Anna Sawai wrote:
“Sending you positive energy Nathalie🥺💛”
