George R.R. Martin Says Game Of Thrones’ Book Will Be Different From The TV Series

In a recent interview with ‘Welt,’ Game of Thrones’ author George R.R. Martin has revealed that the ending of his book will be different from the TV series.

Although Martin hasn’t yet finished his final two books, ‘The Winds of Winter’ and ‘Dream of Spring,’ he hinted that the end of his second book would be different from the finale in the series, Bran Stark to be named ‘King of the Six Kingdoms.’

Here’s what George R.R. Martin said:

“People know an ending — but not the ending. The makers of the TV show had overtaken me, which I didn’t expect.”

He continued:

“There is a temptation to change it — ‘Oh my god, it’s screwed up, I have to come up with something different. But that’s wrong. Because you’ve been planning for a certain ending and if you suddenly change direction just because somebody figured it out, or because they don’t like it, then it screws up the whole structure…

I don’t read the fan sites. I want to write the book I’ve always intended to write all along. And when it comes out they can like it or they can not like it.”
