Actor Giancarlo Esposito seems to be ready to play another villain of the upcoming video game called ‘Far Cry 6.’
Esposito announced the official trailer of Far Cry 6 by sharing it on Twitter. The ‘Better Call Saul’ star takes on a lead role as president Antón Castillo, who is the dictator of a small fictional island nation, Yara.
The 62-year-old actor spoke to Variety and shared the details about his role in the video game. He said:
“He’s in the middle of, unfortunately, a revolution. He’s trying to empower the people to understand that they need strong leadership now.”
The video game will be published on 18 February 2021 by Ubisoft. It was also previewed during Ubisoft Forward, the company’s showcase event on Sunday.
Castillo and Esposito’s ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul’ character Gustavo Fring resemble each other because they are both ruthless and accent. That’s why he goes a little deeper into his character, Castillo. He explained:
“[Antón], although being born with a silver spoon in his mouth, was unable to rule until the revolutionaries that ousted his father was put away. We meet him at a time where he’s trying to empower his son to take up his mantle and really embrace ideas that would allow him to see that soon he will probably be the next leader in this country.”
Esposito also tweeted out and didn’t hide his excitement:
“Excited to FINALLY be able to talk about this! It’s official, I am El Presidente in Far Cry 6”
