Halsey Voices Support For Britney Spears After She Pleads In Court To End Conservatorship

After 13 years of guardianship in which her father controlled her life and money, Britney Spears has broken her silence. Speaking on Wednesday in the case of her father Jamie Spears’ 13-year guardianship, Spears called for an end to this emotional abuse that had demoralized her and left her feeling enslaved.

The control of pop star Britney Spears’ financial and personal life was completely under the control of her father, Jamie Spears, after suffering a psychological disorder in 2007.

In this context, it was stated that his father, Jamie, controlled all of Britney’s tours, her earnings, whether she was married or not, and even her social media posts.

Stating that this situation made the singer’s mental health worse and she was in a difficult situation, the fans of the singer started a “Free Britney” campaign and demanded that Spears be able to control her own life.

Spears broke her silence in court for the first time in a long time over the case of her father’s 13-year guardianship. Britney Spears says her father’s control has turned to abuse and she just wants a normal life.

In the lawsuit, Spears accused her father of trying to prevent her from marrying or having a baby with her boyfriend by asking her to wear a copper coil, forcing her on psychiatric drugs, and making her constantly feel ‘drunk.’

After what Britney Spears said in court, the ‘FreeBritney’ movement flared up again on social media. Many celebrities, singers, actors took to social media to support Spears. Halsey was one of them and she raised her voice for Britney on Twitter.

Halsey said she hoped Britney would be freed and said she was amazed at her courage to speak up. In her other tweet, the 26-year-old singer shared her thoughts on Britney’s father’s restrictions on her desire to have children, using the hashtag FreeBritney.

Here are the tweets:

“Bless Britney and I hope with my whole heart she is awarded freedom from this abusive system. She deserves it more than anything. I admire her courage speaking up for herself today.

Additionally, fuck anyone who thinks they have the authority as an institution or individual to control a person’s reproductive health. #FreeBritney”
