Legendary Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone’s brother, Frank Stallone, revealed how Sly influenced the boxing world with his vision in Rocky 3, and explains how today’s boxers are inspired by him.
Sylvester Stallone shared a rare scene of himself and his brother from the 1982 movie Rocky 3 on his Instagram page. In this little-known scene, Sly was shooting one of the scenes where he boxed with his brother Frank. Frank seemed to be really hitting Sly as the scene was filmed. Syl jokingly said that such things could happen between siblings.
Here’s what the actor said:
“Sparing with my brother FRANK THE TANK Frank Stallone, during the making of Rocky III. Sometimes things get a little rough between brothers that’s for sure! #john_ravoli”
After the actor shared it on Instagram, Frank Stallone stopped in the comment section and revealed how Sylvester Stallone influenced the future of boxing after releasing Rocky 3 in 1982.
While shooting this rare scene, Frank said boxing was fun and relaxing. He also drew attention to the colors of the gloves they wore and said that nobody wore these colors in those days. He said that now everyone is wearing different colored box gloves and brands. According to Frank, his brother Sly’s vision was 50 years ahead of them because of his preference in the movie. That’s why he thinks Sylvester Stallone influenced the future of boxing 38 years ago.
Here’s what Frank Stallone commented:
“That was so much fun, we use to go at it in the gym brother stuff so this was a pleasant relief. If you notice he’s weaseling yellow gloves I’m wearing red. No one did that in those days, now days they all wear different color gloves and different brands. So Sly was 50 yrs ahead of everyone.”
