Canadian rapper Drake shared a new post of a celebration of the album, ‘What a Time to be Alive,’ and realized how he and Future predicted these days years ago.
What a Time to Be Alive is a collaborative commercial mixtape by Drake and Future. It was released on September 20, 2015, by Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records, Republic Records, Epic Records, A1 Records, and Freebandz. The album also featured the music producer Metro Boomin and debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200.
On Instagram, Drake uploaded the cover art of ‘What a Time to Be Alive’ album to celebrate the 5th anniversary and pointed out the interesting detail about the title of the album he and the Atlanta rapper collaborated 5 years ago.
According to Drake, the title of the album seemed to be referring to the coronavirus pandemic, and the Black Lives Matters protests against racism and police brutality happening in various countries.
Here’s what Drake said:
“Future. 5 YEARS AGO TODAY 🤧🦉🦅💨💎💵🔌 What A Time To Be Alive… Title feels more fitting for right now smh.”
