Hugh Jackman Shares A Video Where He Fights A Wolverine Figure

20 years have passed since Australian actor Hugh Jackman appeared as a mutant which has huge claws, insane healing powers, and his bone structure is made of Adamantium. Therefore, Jackman celebrated X-Men Universe’s 20th anniversary by revealing a throwback video.

Jackman played the character in seven films (with uncredited cameos in two more), beginning with the 2000’s ‘X-Men.’ Hugh Jackman retired from Marvel Cinematic Universe after he portrayed Wolverine in 2017’s ‘Logan.’

The 51-year-old actor took to Twitter to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the X-Men Universe and revealed an old video that shows he fights a Wolverine figure. He wrote:

“So here’s the thing. When the studio called and asked if I could get in shape to play #Wolverine in 3 weeks. I might have over-promised! But wouldn’t you have too? Happy 20th Anniversary X-Men Universe.”

This is of course a joke. Although Jackman says he will miss the Wolverine character, he is not thought to come back for now.

Jackman sat down with Variety and said that he feels very blessed to have played the Wolverine character and it was one of the most perfect lines written for the character’s death. He said:

“I did nine movies, but a couple was cameo-ish sort of things. Really, seven movies. I learned so much over those years. I feel so blessed to have the part, and I’m taking on a character that’s so beloved to so many. I’ll commit to that every day of the week, right? I’ll give 110%.

The last scene of ‘Logan,’ for example, where my character is dying, I think one of the most beautiful lines written for the character, which is, ‘Ah, so this is what it feels like.’”

He continued:

“There were so many crossovers by the end because I’d played it for so long. I knew it was going to be my last one way before we wrote it. I made that decision. There was a weight of expectation that I’d been carrying.”
