As the election date of America approaches, many famous names one by one have started to explain which candidate they supported. Due to the importance of the elections, there has been an unprecedented trend of participation and expressing a political opinion in social media. People are no longer afraid to show their side clearly and openly tell their followers who they support.
One of these famous names was the beloved singer Taylor Swift and via her verified Instagram account she announced to her followers who she would vote for in the American elections in her latest post and by closing her comments she acted as if she didn’t care what her fans thought about her decision.
The celebrities on social media are calling for the American people to vote. They are making announcements so desperately to register to vote on time or trying to convince them that mail-in voting is safe because American people are in need of immediate change. They are making statements emphasizing how important it is more than ever to participate in the upcoming American elections this year.
Taylor Swift, who has a lot of followers and fans on social media, made her side clear in her last post and announced that she would vote for Joe Biden in the American elections.
It is known that the singer, who shared a special photo for the elections, has a great influence on her fans in general, so her statement about who to vote for can play a big role in determining the decision of her young fans.
Expressing in her interview with V Magazine she explained why she preferred Joe Biden as the president of the country, furthermore Swift said that this interview coincided with the debate day of the Vice Presidents. Therefore, she declared that at night she would have her cookies and would watch with pleasure shouting and supporting while watching Joe Biden’s VP Kamala Harris on the television.
On the other hand, Swift made an unexpected move and closed the comment section of her post. Maybe it was because she did not want a political debate to go on between her followers in the comment section, or maybe she just did not want her ideas on the elections to be discussed or judged on her social media.
Here’s what she said:
“I spoke to @vmagazine about why I’ll be voting for Joe Biden for president. So apt that it’s come out on the night of the VP debate. Gonna be watching and supporting @kamalaharris by yelling at the tv a lot. And I also have custom cookies.”
