Jamie Foxx is one of the biggest supporters of the ongoing protests after the death of George Floyd who murdered by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, pressing his knee to Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes 46 seconds.
The Texas-born actor shows his support both from his huge social media platforms and by participating in the protesters since the protests began. In this way, he demanded justice for the lives of the black innocent people who were killed by the cops.
Today, on Instagram, Foxx shared a photo of Rayshard Brooks, who was killed by the police, and explained why the people shouldn’t silent to the kind of incidents.
Atlanta police tried to detain Rayshard Brooks, who was sleeping in his car in front of a fast-food store named Wendy, for not passing an alcohol test. Brooks, who was trying to escape at the time, was fatally shot in his back by the police officer. This incident prompted protesters again after Brooks’ brutal murder.
Jamie said that people should raise their voices until they ensure justice, because of the unfair methods and the cops’ lack of tolerance for black people. Finally, he added that he wanted to be free in the US.
Here’s what Jamie Foxx penned:
Look like me… Love like me… Angry eyes can’t see… Just wanna be free… Rayshard Brooks was killed a day after his daughter s birthday… Where’s the compassion? Was he so bad??? He realized he had too much to drink… Even offered to park the car and walk home? Was it that fucking bad? That u couldn’t have compassion? You couldn’t hear in his voice his love for his family??? Fuck man. We can’t be silent… Look like me… Love like me… Angry eyes can’t see… We just wanna be free…”
