Jamie Foxx Writes An Inspirational Letter As He Prepares For His Role In Mike Tyson’s Documentary

Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx is preparing to play former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in an upcoming biopic, and he shared the rare photos of his body transformation for this role on his Instagram page.

Foxx took to Instagram to pen down an inspirational letter about his transformation journey. Discussing his journey that shows his physical development, the actor wrote that he’s working out every day with a fantastic routine. He took pictures of himself in front of a mirror to prove how far he’s improved.

Here’s what Jamie Foxx wrote:

“The transformation begins… ‘FINDING MIKE.’ It is no secret that I have been pursuing the Mike Tyson biopic for some time. People always ask me when it is going to happen?… Things have finally lined up. A few months ago, we started the journey. The first but biggest task is to transform the body.

With a regiment of pull-ups dips and push-ups, we are off to a pretty good start. We have a ways to go, but God willing. Yesterday on my good friends’ Mark Birnbaum show. I shared these early pics of the process. Like I said, we have a ways to go. But I am prepared to get there! #swipeleft TYSON!”

A few days prior, during a recent conversation with filmmaker Mark Birnbaum on Instagram Live sessions, Foxx gave some details about his role for Mike Tyson’s documentary and revealed a funny memory about how he met Tyson. He said:

“It’s a definitive yes. Doing biographies is a tough thing. Sometimes it takes 20 years to get them done, but we officially got the real ball rolling.

I met Mike Tyson in the weirdest way. I was on stage doing stand-up years ago [when I was 22]. I get to my Mike Tyson joke and nobody claps, nobody laughs. You know why? Because Mike Tyson was watching.

So I started hanging out with Mike Tyson, so I got to see Mike in two different ways, two different lives. I saw him at the height of his career and then when things got bad, things got bumpy, I also saw him as well, so what I’m excited about the movie is to show those moments of the different Mike.”
