Jessica Biel Reveals How She Transformed Into A Strong Woman Instead Of Being Feminine

Hollywood star Jessica Biel made a statement in honor of ‘International Day of the Girl Child’ on her official Instagram account and revealed an unknown story about her early life.

International Day of the Girl Child is a day that is celebrated worldwide on 11 October each year. With a decision taken by the United Nations in 2012, it started to be celebrated with the aim of raising awareness of the inequality that girls are exposed to due to their gender.

Biel shared a throwback photo showing her college days on Instagram and said that she is proud to share her story. In the caption area, she said that she was suggested to be nice, beautiful, feminine at a young age but she embraced her strength and mind development.

She said that inequality between boys and girls seemed unreasonable to her since she was at a young age, and women have the power to achieve anything.

Although she said that physical characteristics difference between boys and girls, she stated that girls should raise awareness that they can achieve anything.

Here’s what she wrote:

“Today is International #DayoftheGirl — and I’m proud to share my story in support of #TheGirlEffect. ⠀

Society told me I was SUPPOSED TO be nice, be pretty, be sweet, be feminine. Instead, I CHOSE TO own my strength, cultivate my mind, and embrace my power.”

She continued:

“At a young age, so many girls are taught to be comfortable walking two steps behind their male peers. As someone who always identified in mind and body as an athlete –– that never made sense to me. Women are powerful and that’s a great thing. Even though it scares the sh*t out of people. ⠀

While the gender stereotypes have evolved and we’ve come a long way — it’s still so important for little girls everywhere to recognize that they are capable of everything – and more. We have to teach all children equality so that one day, girls will be represented EVERYWHERE that decisions are made.”

She added:

“Tag just one friend who inspires you to share your SUPPOSED TO / CHOSE TO story. Why just one? Because when one girl finds her power to make different choices that change her life, it inspires others to do the same…and THAT changes the world. Learn more at @girleffect.”
