John Boyega Reacts To The 2021 Nomination Of Critics’ Choice Movie Awards After He Received A Nomination

British-Nigerian actor John Adedayo Bamidele Adegboyega, known professionally as John Boyega, has updated his Instagram feed and revealed what he thinks about the 2021 nominations of Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.

The Critics Choice Association announced the series nominees on Monday, and Ozark and The Crown led the pack with six nods apiece. Both will vie for Best Drama, while Ozark’s Jason Bateman and Laura Linney are up for Best Actor in a Drama Series and Best Actress in a Drama Series, respectively.

Among the nominations was John Boyega. The 28-year-old actor received a nomination of the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television with ‘Small Axe.’

On Instagram, John shared his thoıughts and feeling about this unexpected nomination and said that he’s grateful for this nomination. Also, he thanked the director of ‘Small Axe’ Steve McQueen and his team.

Here’s what he said:

This year, nominations included a new short-form category, which was dominated by Quibi in its first and only season. Meanwhile, there was not an animated series category, unlike last year.

The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards also announced that Taye Diggs will host the live show, which will air live on the CW on Sunday, March 7 from 7-9 p.m. ET/PT. Film nominees will be unveiled on February 7, as well as the format of this year’s ceremony.
