Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber made a new announcement on his Instagram account and announced his decision on how he uses his social media platforms.
Following the increase of racial discrimination and police violence, peaceful protests have been continuing across the country, and many celebrities showed their support for protests by using its social media platforms.
In the announcement, the 26-year-old star talked about the impact of his black culture on his musical career, and he said that his artist identity was inspired and influenced by black culture.
Justin continued that he is committed to using his massive social media platforms to speak up about racism and police violence. He added that he wanted to be a part of much-needed change.
Here’s what he said:
“I am inspired by black culture. I have benefited off of black culture. My style, how I sing, dance, perform, and my fashion have all been influenced and inspired by black culture.
I am committed to using my platform from this day forward to learn, to speak up about racial injustice and systemic oppression, and to identify ways to be a part of much-needed change.”
