Katherine Langford Confirms The Death Of Her Acting Mentor

Katherine Langford Confirms The Death Of Her Acting Mentor

Australian actress, Katherine Langford, is best known for her role as Hannah Baker in Netflix’s 2017 TV series 13 Reasons Why. The young actress, who is only 24 years old, has managed to attract attention with her performance in this series. Unfortunately, the other day Langford shared the news of the death of her mentor, who helped her achieve this success and advance in her acting career, with a touching message via her Instagram account.

Katherine Langford began by saying that she woke up in the morning with the news that her acting teacher Fern Nicholson passed away in Perth. Langford’s mentor, Fern, was the person who discovered and saw talent in Langford when the young actress was new to her acting career. For this reason, it was very difficult for Langford to accept this news and had caused her more pain because she was far from home and it was already a bad year.

Katherine Langford continued her candid note by briefly mentioning the memories of her past with her mentor while explaining that she remembered the days she spent with her every Wednesday night studying acting and that day was the most important moment of the week for the young actress. She showed how Fern touched her life by saying that her teacher had always supported her and gave hope that maybe one day she could pursue her dreams. Now, she realizes how lucky she is to live her dream.

Langford ended her tribute showing her love for her beloved mentor saying that those who met or had the privilege to be taught by her will understand what a selfless and radiant soul she had, and the enormous light she leaves behind.

Here’s what she said:

“This morning I woke up to the news that my acting mentor, Fern Nicholson passed away last night in Perth. Fern mentored me in some of the most fundamental moments I can remember, and on top of everything that’s happened this year, it hurts that much more to be away from home and hear this news. I’ve been blessed to learn from a lot of great people, but it’s special when someone sees something in you before many others do.

I remember spending every Wednesday night in your classes – they were the highlight of my week, and gave me hope that maybe one day I’d be able to pursue this dream that I’m lucky to be living now…For those who met or had the privilege to be taught by her, you understand what a selfless and radiant soul she had, and the enormous light she leaves behind. RIP Fern.”
