Singer and songwriter Kesha Rose Sebert, usually known professionally by the mononym Kesha, has shared a new post on her Instagram page and celebrated legendary country singer and songwriter Dolly Parton’s 75th birthday.
Born January 19th, 1946, in Sevier County, Tennessee, Parton wrote songs about her own hardscrabble upbringing. She evolved into a global icon, transcending country music to become an ambassador for positivity, compassion, and acceptance.
Kesha took Instagram to share some throwback photos of the legendary singer and penned down a message in a beautiful birthday tribute. In her message, Kesha showed her admiration for Parton as she celebrated her birthday.
The 33-year-old singer said she would follow in the footsteps of the iconic singer when she can’t find her own steps. Moreover, Kesha admitted that she wrote a song about Dolly Parton but did not give any details about the song.
Here’s what Kesha captioned:
“Happy birthday to an absolute treasure and light Dolly, dear Dolly, I will walk in your footsteps when I can’t find my own. I’m writing a song about you rn haha Happpy BiiiiiirrrrrthhhhdaYYYYY”
As you might remember, Parton has joined Kesha for a collaboration on the pop star’s newly-announced album ‘Rainbow.’ Parton will be one of many guest stars to appear on the new project, teaming up with Kesha for a duet on Parton’s own classic ‘Old Flames Can’t Hold a Candle to You,’ which reached No. 1 when Parton originally recorded it and released it as the second single from Dolly, Dolly, Dolly in 1980.
