Kevin Durant Reveals The Reason Why He Joined Team USA

Brooklyn Nets basketball player Kevin Durant was unable to play for a year due to an Achilles injury last season. He returned for the 2021 season after injury, however, but was eliminated by the Bucks in the second round of the Nets in the playoffs.
After Durant’s team was eliminated from the playoffs, he joined Team USA for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo. His decision to play for team USA was pretty surprising, considering he’s had so many injuries over the past few years. However, Durant explained to The Athletic why he wanted to be in the Olympics.
Saying that he will always play basketball as long as he is healthy, Durant said that he will be more ready for the next season and wants to be ready for the next season.
Kevin Durant said:
“Every chance that I can get that I’m healthy and my mind’s in the right place to play basketball, I’m going to go out there and play. Finished the year off healthy, the regular season and the playoffs, so I felt it would be cool to get, I guess, a kickstart on next season by getting in shape a little earlier in the summer with Team USA.”
Alongside Kevin Durant, the Team USA for Tokyo Olympics will feature names like Jayson Tatum, Bradley Beal, Damian Lillard, and James Harden, and they are the usual favorites. No other country is this strong and the USA team will try to show the world why they always win the Olympic gold medal.
