Late Los Angeles Lakers basketball icon Kobe Bryant’s widow, Vanessa Bryant has remembered one of the unforgettable moments of her late husband and shared got emotional after sharing a video on Instagram.
3 years ago today (December 18), Kobe Bryant’s number 8 and 24 jerseys were retired at Staples Center, Los Angeles, and it was promised that these jerseys would not be worn again.
During the first half of the match against Golden State on December 18, 2017, Kobe Bryant stopped in midfield and watched as his jersey numbers were unveiled at the Staples Center, and his jerseys were retired.
As you might remember, behind Bryant were NBA legends and former teammates, from Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to Derek Fisher and Shaquille O’Neal to Allen Iverson and Bill Russell.
Today is the third anniversary of the jersey’s retirement of Kobe, and Vanessa Bryant took to Instagram to commemorate this special moment. Vanessa posted a video showing Kobe’s moments before he gave his speech at the ceremony at the Staples Center.
Vanessa also left an emotional message and said that no one could replace her late husband. She also concluded her message by defining the late basketball icon as the king of Los Angeles.
