Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward LeBron James is pleased to see his former teammate and Phoenix Suns general manager James Jones winning the NBA executive of the year award on Twitter.
James Jones was named 2020-21 Executive of the Year ahead of the Suns’ first game of the Western Conference finals against the Clippers. Jones joined the Suns in 2018 as vice president of basketball operations and became permanent general manager in 2019.
James Jones is the most important name behind the success of the Suns. He added head coach of the year of NBCA, Monty Williams, to the team and trades all-star basketballer Chris Paul. This is considered the Suns’ biggest comeback in recent years.
On the other hand, Jones has always been a duty man in his 14-year career. He is often remembered for his time with the Miami Heat. He won 2 championships as a teammate of LeBron James in 2012 and 2013. He won his third title with the Cavaliers in 2016.
LeBron James took to his Twitter account to acknowledge his friend’s achievement and congratulated Jones on winning the best manager of the year award. He called Jones, who has 3 championships, the champion.
Here’s what LeBron James tweeted:
“YELLING CONGRATS to my brother James “CHAMP” Jones on Executive of the Year!!”
