Atlanta rapper Dominique Armani Jones, known professionally as Lil Baby, was interviewed by ‘Complex’ and he revealed the unknowns about his musical life.
Compex announces the award for ‘Best Rapper Alive’ at the beginning of each year. The artist awarded this award must be the best in terms of overall impact, technical skills, cultural relevance, and quality of music.
For 2020, that rapper is Lil Baby. ‘Complex’ interviewed Lil Baby after they believe he is the best rapper of all time and is the ‘Best Rapper Alive’ of 2020.
During the interview, Lil Baby revealed what he thinks about the 2020’s Best Rapper Alive award and whether he wanted to be known as the best or not.
Here’s what Lil Baby said:
“Well, in a sense, I didn’t [always] want to be a rapper. But I’m rapping. So if I’m going to be a rapper, my whole thing was, I don’t want people to just fuck with me because I’m Lil Baby and I get money. I really wanted my music to be good.”
The 26-year-old rapper also shared his thoughts on what he hopes stands out most when people think back on the year he had in 2020. He stated:
“I never really thought about that, because I plan on this year being bigger than last year, and so on and so on. So it ain’t like I’m thinking of 2020 as the highest point of my career. It’s been the highest so far, but so has every other year.”
