Lil Nas X Reveals Why Billboard Removed ‘Old Town Road’ From The Country Chart

During the recent interview with National Public Radio(NPR), country-trap singer Lil Nas X has shared his thoughts about racism in the music insdustry. He said:
“Initially I was like, ‘I think I’m being discriminated against.’ But then as I went on to think about it, I felt like it was more of a purist situation, like, ‘We want this to stay this way.’ And even though they have a lot of changes going on with country [music] like a lot of pop country and even the [songs] with trap influence maybe this was [them saying]”
He continued:
“‘Hey, we let some stuff fly, but this was too far.’ You feel me?… One of those scared [responses], like, ‘We don’t want this to evolve this far,’ basically.”
A few days ago Lil Nas X revealed his type of music. He said:
“I’m a fan of all genres of music. I have a few country songs I like. I’m not gonna say I’m a huge country fan but, you know, I listen around.”
