Receiving nominations for two Academy Awards and five BAFTA Awards, Margot Robbie broke her social media silence for a very important issue.
Raising awareness for young people with high care needs in her native Australia, the 30-year-old actress is working to help them by collaborating with a charity called Youngcare Australia.
Stating that 5,600 young people with disabilities stay in aged care, Margot tried to be the voice of these young people who were deprived of making their own choices and said that they deserve to live.
She urged fans to join her saying Youngcare Australia will change that.
Here’s what Margot Robbie wrote:
“5,600 young Australians with disabilities woke up in aged care this morning. They deserve to live young lives, but they have been stripped of their freedom to make choices of their own. Youngcare Australia is changing that.”
If you are going to donate, you can find below Youngcare Australia’s statement on their website.
Here’s the statement:
“THIS is the time to take a stand and say once and for all that every young person lives with independence, choice and dignity. Please join us in a 24 HOUR ONLY Giving Day, so that we can raise funds to continue providing these vital grants to young people with high care needs. All donations made will be matched up to $150,000!”
