Philadelphia rapper Robert Rihmeek Williams, known professionally as Meek Mill, has shared a recent post on his official Instagram account and remembered the terrible days in prison.
In November 2017, Meek Mill was sentenced to two to four years in state prison for violating his probation. The Philadelphia rapper had been on probation for nearly a decade after being convicted on gun and drug charges at 21. In the days following his sentencing, the fans started the movement called #FreeMeek on social media.
In 2018, The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ordered Meek Mill to be released on bail. The decision came after the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office said Meek’s conviction on gun and drug charges should be overturned due to concerns about the credibility of a police officer who was a key witness. As a final decision, his conviction was thrown out.
Meek Mill told what he did during his days in prison by sharing a photo of him having a good time with his family and friends. In the caption, Meek said he had to sleep with his knife in order not to die in prison. He also said that everyone advised him that everything will be fine.
Here’s what he said:
“Still remember times locked in my cell I had to sleep with my knife & only thing they said is he’ll be alright!”
