Actress Morena Baccarin, who is known for her role as Vanessa Carlysle in the Deadpool franchise, revealed she hasn’t been approached yet about returning to Deadpool 3.
In the comics, her role Vanessa is a mutant Copycat, but Deadpool producers haven’t handled this story in the franchise yet. She plays as Deadpool’s girlfriend, and her character has an important place in the first movie. However, in the second movie, her early death encouraged Deadpool to take revenge, and then, she came back to life with a time travel at the end of the movie.
During a recent interview on PeopleTV’s Couch Surfing show, Baccarin said that she has no idea if she comes back to the franchise with Deadpool 3 movie. She said:
“I have no idea. Apparently, they’re still writing it. I genuinely don’t know. I have not been asked or approached. There have been no conversations yet, so I’m waiting with bated breath.”
However, if she returns, the 41-year-old actress continued and said she would love to play with Ryan Reynolds again. She stated:
“As big as possible. I mean, he [Reynolds] will always be the lead, but I would love to be right by his side.”
On the other hand, Marvel Studios’ head Kevin Feige has previously spoken more generally for Deadpool 3 and gave a mark that they wouldn’t change the movie:
“There’s no question that Deadpool is working, so why would we change it?”
However, despite these assurances, it is difficult to say which actors and characters will return for Deadpool 3.
