Morfydd Clark Opens Up On How She Prepares For Cate Blanchett’s ‘Galadriel’ Role In The LOTR

Morfydd Clark, one of the new faces on the screen, is on the rise with the projects she takes part in. She is now preparing for her role in the legendary Lord Of The Rings TV series. She is going to be the elven queen Galadriel.

It has already received season 2 approval, but the release date of the series is unknown. Unlike the movie version, it is known that it will take place thousands of years ago, but there is no detailed information yet.

Morfydd Clark is in New Zealand where she’s been filming the series since February. The pandemic affected her like everyone else and she has to stay away from home for a long time due to the filming process.

Here’s what she said:

“I’ve certainly been homesick, but it’s a really small cross to bear in comparison to what’s going on at the moment.”

In the original trilogy, the role of young Galadriel was played by Cate Blanchett and it became an iconic character. Today, the rising star, Clark, is getting ready for her role with the help of her friends and family. Although, there is a distance between them.

Here’s what she said:

“My friends love [The Lord Of The Rings]. Whenever they came back home to Cardiff from university and I came back from drama school, we’d hibernate in one house and watch all three films back-to-back. But, when I told them I’d been hired for the series, they were like: ‘Oh, really? We’d been so looking forward to that but now it is just going to be you in it we won’t be able to enjoy it as much.’ That was very sobering to hear!”

For now, Clark is unaware of how her life will change after being involved in a mega-production of Amazon. But, she knows that it’s way different than the works she had done before.

Here’s what she said:

“I feel like I’ve got my fix of the massive stuff by doing Lord of the Rings. The amount of [people working] on this show is continually mind-blowing. One guy’s job consists just of seeing how dust reacts to footsteps and breath! That would never have even crossed my mind before. Other than something like Marvel, I don’t think things could get much bigger than this.
