Morgan Freeman Prouds Of Mississippi After Hoisting A New State Flag Without Confederate Emblem

One of the respected actors in Hollywood, Morgan Freeman is a proud man after Mississippi hoisted a new state flag without the Confederate emblem.

Six months after Mississippi legislators retired the old flag bearing the Confederate war emblem, it raised the new state flag for the first time in the state capital on Monday.

The new flag depicts a white magnolia on a blue, gold, and red background with white stars. Under the flower is the phrase ‘We trust in God’. The single star on the top represents Native Americans and is made up of diamond shapes important to the Choctaw culture.

Following this news, Morgan Freeman took to Instagram and reacted to the new flag by sharing a picture of the flag and the Mississippi State Capitol. In the caption, the 71-year-old actor said that he is proud to call Mississippi his home.

Here’s what the actor captioned:

“Proud to call Mississippi my home.”

A fan commented:

“What a difference a flag makes!”

Another fan wrote:

“Love the new flag.”
