He surprised his fans by saying that he learned to sail that summer thanks to the Moby Dick book he read when he was young and dedicated the next 50 years to sailing. He also shared a black and white photo of him while sailing, showing how addicted he is to this passion.

Here’s what Morgan Freeman said:

“I started sailing in 1967 because I was always fascinated by the sea since I first read “Moby Dick” as a child.

Despite running into trees and sandbanks I was thoroughly hooked! That summer I committed to learning how to sail and I spent the next 50 years doing just that. #tbt”
