It was reported that the autopsy result of actress Naya Rivera after she disappeared from Lake Piru in Ventura County on Wednesday evening.
Naya Rivera went on a boat ride with her 4-year-old son on Lake Piru. Another boat that saw her son falling asleep on the boat’s deck reached Rivera’s boat, and her son reported that Naya Rivera went swimming and never came back. Although the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said the incident was likely to be a drowning case, allegations of murder were also made.
The autopsy performed on Naya Rivera has confirmed that the actress died accidental drowning in Lake Piru last week. Her body was found on Monday following an extensive search for the missing star.
The Ventura County Medical Examiner confirmed her cause of death on Tuesday after it was revealed that she had been pronounced dead. Here’s the statement:
“The circumstances and visual characteristics all indicated that the body was that of Naya Rivera and the identity has been confirmed by dental comparison. The body has been X-rayed and a full autopsy has been performed. The autopsy findings are consistent with drowning and the condition of the body is consistent with the time that she was submerged.”
“No traumatic injuries or disease processes were identified at autopsy. There is no indication from the investigation or examination that drugs or alcohol played a role in the decedent’s death, but specimens will be submitted for toxicology testing.”
