How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris has reacted to Joe Biden’s decision after overturning Donald Trump’s ban on transgender people serving in the Us military on his Instagram page.
On Monday, President Joe Biden signed an executive order that lifted a controversial ban on transgender people serving in the U.S. military by his predecessor, a move cheered by LGBTQ activists that fulfills a campaign pledge.
Following Biden’s decision, Neil Patrick Harris took to Instagram and reacted to the statement which was released by the White House. In his message, he agreed with this statement as he shared his satisfaction with this news.
Here’s what Neil Patrick Harris said:
“Allowing all qualified Americans to serve their country in uniform is better for the military and better for the country because an inclusive force is a more effective force,” the White House said in a statement. “Simply put, it’s the right thing to do and is in our national interest.”
I absolutely agree.”
When Trump announced the Twitter ban in 2017, he said the military wanted to concentrate on a ‘decisive and overwhelming victory’ without being burdened by the ‘huge medical costs and disruption’ of getting transgender people.
