Neil Patrick Harris Says ‘I Must Go Cuddle’ As His Family Receives The Cutest Gift For Christmas From Santa

Actor Neil Patrick Harris, who became famous with the legendary Barney Stinson character in How I Met Your Mother, shared an adorable post on Instagram to show what Santa left for his children Gideon and Harper on Christmas morning.

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka are a long-time couple and have been lovingly raising their adopted twins Gideon and Harper since 2010 and Neil Patrick mostly prefers to use his social media to share their family photos.

Celebrating all the special days with the most beautiful costumes, the family celebrated this Christmas together by wearing team pajamas, and on Christmas morning Santa left a gift for the children of the famous actor and to their delight, a golden retriever puppy came out of the box.

On Wednesday, Neil Patrick Harris shared a photo of himself from Christmas morning with the kids and announced that their family has expanded and a new member has joined. Harris and David Burtka made their children very happy with this surprise, but Harris also complained about the mischief of the puppy.

In the caption, he explained that the puppy named Ella had taken over their lives and she was a curious, clumsy, sublime little creature. However, he thought they needed some training because she peed everywhere and gnawed on everything. But the best and most important thing to do was to give the puppy a nice tight hug.

Here’s the caption:

“Oh Santa, what have you done?? On Christmas morning, @dbelicious and I watched Gideon and Harper open a box filled with… a golden retriever puppy.

Her name is Ella, and she has pretty much taken over our lives. She’s curious, clumsy, and sublime. Except for when she’s peeing everywhere.

Or gnawing on everything. Which is always. Methinks we need some training. But first, I must go cuddle. Thanks, Santa. You rule. #grateful”

This post by Neil Patrick Harris received over 300k likes and also caused reactions from some followers because now everyone thinks that dogs should be adopted, not bought.

One of the followers wrote:

“Beautiful dog and so happy for your family. I hope she’s from a shelter and not a breeder though.”
