Orlando Bloom Urges Fans Not To Post On Instagram For A Crucial Reason

In a recent Instagram post, actor Orlando Bloom calls on his fans to attend an event to raise awareness of hate speech on social media.

The 43-year-old actor took to Instagram and shared a slogan that reads ‘stop hate for profit’ and ‘stop hate’ and embarked on a fight against hate speech.

In his caption, Bloom said that he enjoys many platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, but hate speech can get people into trouble. Therefore, he asked them to participate in this social campaign on Wednesday, September 16, by organizing a joint event with some of America’s leading civil rights organizations.

He said that those who want to participate must ‘freeze’ their Instagram accounts for 24 hours.

Here’s what Orlando Bloom stated:

“Social media platforms should be a place for positive encouragement and clear communication. When platforms I use and enjoy such as Instagram and Facebook look the other way at hate speech, disinformation, and confusion, it can lead us into trouble…

So I’m standing with some of America’s leading civil rights organizations Vasanthi, Anti-Defamation League, and NAACP to ask you to join me and refrain from posting for 24hrs this Wednesday, September 16th”
