Producer and singer Pharrell Williams shows his respect for late congressman and civil rights champion John Lewis and shared a funny video on his official Instagram page.
The son of sharecroppers who survived a brutal beating by police during a landmark 1965 march in Selma, Alabama, to become a towering figure of the civil rights movement and a longtime US congressman, John Robert Lewis, has died after a six-month battle with cancer at the age of 80.
After his death, the 47-year-old singer paid his tribute to Lewis and showed respect to his legacy. He said:
“Rest In Peace. Rest in Power. You are an American Hero. Thank you for being a giant.”
He also shared a video that shows John Lewis was dancing to Pharrell’s hit music ‘Happy’ while he was at a campaign event for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams in Georgia.
