R. Kelly Arrested On Child Pornography And Other Federal Sex Crime Charges
Grammy-winner artist R Kelly was arrested in Chicago after an investigation into 13 different crimes.
According to a statement from the US Prosecutor’s Office, Joseph Fitzpatrick, the R&B singer took him to the detention facility by federal officials at 7 am local time.
According to Fitzpatrick, federal charges by the northern county court of Illinois include “possession of child pornography”, “malicious treatment of minors” and “obstruction of justice”. He added that further charges would be announced later.
The 52-year-old singer was detained on 10 different charges in February but was later released on bail. The charges included four sexual assault charges, three of them underage. On May 30, Kelly had 11 more charges.
A few months ago R. Kelly begged the press for an event in Illinois, Springfield. He shared a video on Instagram and he stated:
“Yo, this is your boy Kells and I got an event to do tonight in Springfield, Illinois”
He also continued and asked the media to leave him alone. He said:
“So I want the media to take it easy on me, man…This is how I got to get paid for right now. So if you see me in the club, with a couple of drinks in my hand, and chilling, please, take it easy.”
