Ricky Gervais Reacts To Critics Of Campaign To Save Animals From Afghanistan

British comedian Ricky Gervais took a harsh response on Twitter to critics of the Operation Ark campaign to save animals from Afghanistan.
After the Taliban took back control of Afghanistan earlier this month, Paul “Pen” Farthing led a team of personnel from the animal rescue organization Nowzad in Kabul and Operation Ark to transport 200 animals (140 dogs, 60 cats) to the UK on a private plane. started a fundraiser.
Defense Secretary Ben Wallace stated that although Farthing and his team were featured on the plane, he would not prioritize animals over people. Vocal animal rights supporter Ricky Gervais supported Farthing on Twitter and wrote:

In a follow-up tweet, Gervais added and reacted to critics of the campaign to save animals from Afganisthan. He tweeted:
“Dear stupid cunts saying we shouldn’t put animals before people. 1. The animals go in the hold where people can’t go. 2. This is an extra, privately funded plane that will allow MORE people to be saved. #OperationArk.”
